Books: The Secret Garden, by Frances H Burnett

This is the story of a girl called Mary who moves in with her uncle in England after her parents die in India. She likes gardening and feels tempted to go into his uncle's secret garden, where her life will change. Getting to know her cousin Collin will turn out to be the greatest discovery.

Adela García (NI1-A) also read it, and she loved it! She tells us that the novel is about parents' education and how even someone who was spoilt and bad-tempered can change into a marvellous person when they are given the chance.

Eva Mª Medina (NI1-A) read it as well. She also thought it was "good". She loved the passage where Mary argues with her cousin Collin. This argument makes her think twice about her selfish behaviour. From now on, she'll try to be more understanding.

Blas García (NI1-B) also read this book. He rated it "good". He likes the girl's interest in nature, and he also likes the fact that when the girl moves in with her relatives after her parents' death, her life, but also theirs', is improved.
