This classic novel by Oscar Wilde is the story of a good-looking, vain man, Dorian Gray, who had a painting of himself. It tells of the transformation of Dorian from a good guy into an evil one. The change is spookily reflected in the portrait.
Jorge López (NI1-B) read this book and found it "good". His favourite character is Lord Henry, who seems very interesting to him because he knows how to talk to Dorian into doing evil things.
Francisco J. Rodríguez (NI1-B) read it too, and rated it "excellent". He describes Dorian, a handsome blond blue-eyed young man, good and innocent at first, but who slowly turns into an evil, selfish one.
Paqui Sandoval (NI1-A) also read this book, and she thought it was "good". She particularly liked the passage where he thought that he could change: he would become a better person, and that way the picture would become less awful.
Maribel Blanes (NI1-A) read the book as well, and she found it "good". Her favourite character is Dorian Gray himself, who is a charming, friendly person at first, but very aggressive and evil, as well as ugly by the end of the novel.
Ángeles Ortega (NI1-A), who also read the book, found it "excellent". Her favourite character is Lord Henry, a rich old friend of Basil's, the painter of the portrait. In Ángeles's opinion, he manipulates Dorian by saying that youth is the only important thing, when that was something Dorian had never worried about. He leads Dorian to sell his soul.
