This is is the famous story by Charles Dickens about a mean and miserly man who gets the spooky visits of his business partners' spirits on Christmas' Eve.
Ana Mª Martínez read it but she only thought it was "readable". Her favourite character is the first spirit, the ghost of Christmas Past, who showed Scrooge his earlier life. She describes him as a white glowing apparition that seemed to float on air, a strange figure, half child, half old man.
Lola Muñoz (NI1-A) also read and she thought it was "excellent". Her favourite passage is when Scrooge's nephew visits him to wish him "merry Christmas". However, his uncle is very unkind to him, and says: "humbug! Why do you call it "merry" Christmas? You are too poor to be merry." Then his nephew answers: "Well, you are too rich to be unhappy. I have only come to see you and invite you because it's Christmas, so, merry Christmas, uncle!"
