This book tells the story of Buck, a strong dog who is carried from its easy life in sunny California to freezing Yukon, in Northwestern Canada. There, Buck is forced to work hard. But the beauty of the wild land will awake "the call of the wild" in this heroic dog.

Ángel López read it and he thought it was "readable". His two favourite characters are Buck, a big male dog with a gold and brown coat of fur and unmeasurable courage and willpower, and John Thornton, a good man pursuing his "golden dream" among the settlers of Northern Canada. He is the only human who truly earns Buck's love.
